Birmingham is the youngest city in Europe with under 25’s accounting for almost 40% of its population. With such a young demographic it is no surprise that we are a digitally conversant. Birmingham is currently striving for Smart City status and in this talk we will ask what part culture plays in our digital future and the impact it will have on how the city’s inhabitants and visitors experience the city. Dr Dorothy Butchard will be joined by BOM’s Director and Founder Karen Newman and one of BOM’s Fellows Florence Okoye.
Join Culture Central and University of Birmingham for this brand new discussion series designed to bring academic research into conversation with the cultural sector. Hosted in coffee shops and venues across the city centre, the series offers communities an alternate space to exchange ideas.
