Fluid is a two-day festival across five venues presenting new music by Queer composers and musicians that spans genres from classical music to electronic to punk.
The festival kicks off with Fluid Conversation at Birmingham Town Hall with a reception hosting artists who will talk about their work.
Composers from leading UK conservatoires and experimental electronic musicians perform the very best of new Queer sound and music at Fluid Festival at Minerva Works. Festival highlights include: the rarely performed piece Gay Guerilla by Julius Eastman led by international pianist Rolf Hind with Siwan Rhys; Mx World present their latest EP; Henry McPherson presents a special festival commission Savage Parade; composers Michael Wolters & Paul Norman perform new work Worries; multi-media artist Rebekah Ubuntu; digital saboteurs Repeator; composers and singers Yfat Soul Zisso, Daniel Vs The World & C N Lester and DJ and electronic composer Robin Buckley. Plus special guests Matmos perform live from their studio in Baltimore, USA.
On Sunday the festival moves to the marquee at Eden Bar for Fluid Brunch in the heart of the Gay Quarter for a free event that includes brunch and performances by new Queer talent.
