Birmingham Contemporary Music Group presents

Canal Serenade on Narrow Boats

BCMG asked three composers, one from Britain, one from Cyprus and another from the Czech Republic, to write music celebrating the amazing story of Birmingham’s canals. Where once goods were exchanged, at Weekender we hear musical ideas traded as music written by Richard Baker, Ondřej Adámek and Yannis Kyriakides plays out across Birmingham’s watery arteries.

Canal Serenade will be performed on three separate narrowboats, uniting at the meeting point of three canals, with Ex Cathedra lending its voices from the towpath.
