Birmingham city-centre will be very busy during Birmingham Weekender and we recommend using public transport whenever possible.
Walk or bicycle
If you are a local resident, we encourage you where possible to walk or bicycle into the city centre and make a day of it!
Birmingham city centre is well served by bus, metro and train services. Plan your journey at www.networkwestmidlands.com. We recommend that you make yourself aware of your last train home and give yourself plenty of time to get to the station.
Travelling by car
A number of road and access restrictions are in place around Birmingham including temporary measures supporting the Paradise redevelopment in the city centre. Please plan your journey carefully and allow for extra time if travelling by car through affected areas. Full details are available at www.birmingham.gov.uk/connected.
Road closures for Velo Birmingham
Some road closures will be in place on Sunday 24 September for Velo Birmingham. We recommend that you check www.velobirmingham.com for more information.
FREE parking for Weekender audiences
B4 Car Park is offering FREE parking for visitors to Birmingham Weekender on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. B4 Car Park is located on Weaman Street, between Snow Hill Station and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Find more details at https://www.b4parking.com/free-weekend-parking
Navigating the city
Use the map in our brochure to find your events and performances. If you need help, be sure to ask a festival volunteer who will do their best to point you in the right direction. During busy times visitors will be asked to keep to stewarded walking routes.
The vast majority of Birmingham Weekender venues and shopping centres are accessible to those with limited mobility. If you have specific access needs, ask a volunteer to assist you in getting the best possible view of the performance.
Venues and timings may change in the event of bad weather. Check www.birminghamweekender.com, our Social Media pages or ask one of our volunteers for updates. Capacity is limited for some events.
Most Birmingham Weekender events are free of charge with no need to book. A few events need to be pre-booked or are ticketed. Check event listings for details.
