Food Glorious Food at Birmingham Weekender posted 18 Aug 2017

If you’re after somewhere to refuel after dancing the day (and night!) away, why not take advantage of some of our amazing food partnerships and offers.

Want to try some authentic Bangladeshi cuisine within an unusual setting? Treat yourself to Knights of the Raj, on Friday 22nd at the Edwardian Tea Rooms in Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Soul City Arts will transform the museum into a bustling curry house for the evening, where authentic food and the Bangladeshi restaurant community tell their stories.

If you’d prefer something a little sweeter, try macaroon painting in the Great Western Arcade. From Friday 22nd – Sunday 23rd, Miss Macaroon invite you to while away some time painting high-quality French macaroons, and maybe enjoy a glass of prosecco to help your creative juices flow.

Fine-dining lovers will enjoy a complete tour of the Opus kitchen with Executive Chef Ben Ternent on Saturday 23rd. Begin with an introduction to the Opus ethos over tea and coffee, followed by a tasting of two red and two white wines selected by Opus General Manager and wine buyer Pawel.

If you can’t make the date, Opus are offering 20% off their tasting menu and an afternoon tea special, meaning you can enjoy £15 off whilst partaking in a Hendrick’s Cocktail Tea Pot, followed by tea, sweet and savoury nibbles.

Finally, head to Square Dance in Victoria Square across the weekend for some of the region’s best street food stalls, including a bar with Purity ales and lagers, fine wines and fizz, artisan gin and rum punch.
