Birmingham Arts Partnership

Birmingham Weekender is organised by Birmingham Arts Partnership (BAP), the group of leading arts, culture and heritage venues based in and around the city centre. It is the second festival staged by BAP, having presented 4 Squares Weekender in 2013 to celebrate the opening of the Library of Birmingham.

The Partnership

Birmingham enjoys the greatest quality and diversity of cultural infrastructure outside of the capital, with world class artists, productions, performances and exhibitions.

Our city benefits from a generation of public and private investment and a strong belief in the value of culture in terms of prosperity, learning, well-being and identity. Over 3 million people are engaged in the arts in Birmingham as audiences and participants. Across our network, 1.5 million tickets are sold per year, generating some £33m income.

Learning and Participation

As well as Birmingham Weekender, we are in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton to deliver the 'Bridge' programme for Arts Council England. Arts Connect connects children and young people with great arts and culture.

BAP is currently an informal network, with a membership of arts companies and venues that have strategic relationships with Birmingham City Council and Arts Council England:
